🇬🇧 London + willingness to travel (100% in-person)
💰 Competitive (incl. equity)
We're looking for a Head of Finance to own Zuba's financial operations end-to-end — treasury, FP&A, and accounting. You'll manage liquidity across currencies and stablecoins, build investor-grade reporting, and keep our books clean as we scale across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
This isn't a typical startup finance role. Treasury is at the centre of what we do — managing real-time liquidity across GBP, EUR, USD, and USDT, prefunding payout partners in NGN, and navigating FX exposure that moves daily. You'll also own FP&A and investor relations materials, and ensure our multi-entity books are audit-ready. Three jobs, one seat, and more interesting than 95% of finance roles.
A few reasons why you might find this exciting:
Who you are
- You've done this before — 5-8 years of experience spanning at least two of treasury, FP&A, and accounting. Enough to have seen things go wrong, not so much that you can't do hands-on work.
- You understand payments — fintech or payments experience strongly preferred. You can explain how cash moves through a cross-border payments business.
- You're hands-on — comfortable building the spreadsheet, closing the books, and chasing the invoice yourself. No team to delegate to yet.
- You're commercially minded — you see finance as an operational function, not a back-office one. You flag issues before they become problems.
- You produce clean output — investor updates, board materials, and financial models that are clear, accurate, and produced without heavy supervision.
- You're qualified — ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent — or enough experience that the qualification doesn't matter.
- Bonus: Experience with stablecoin or crypto treasury, multi-entity consolidation, or Big 4 fintech practice.
Some topics you'll think about
- How do you manage liquidity when you hold cash in GBP, EUR, and USD, plus USDT, with payout partners requiring NGN prefunding on unpredictable volumes?
- What does unit economics tracking look like for a business with multiple corridors, each with different partner costs, FX spreads, and take rates?
- How do customer funds held in stablecoins before payout show up on the balance sheet?
- We have entities in the UK, Slovakia, and Canada with intercompany flows. What's the right approach to consolidation and transfer pricing?
- We're growing fast but controls are minimal. Where do you focus first, and what do you explicitly not do yet?
